Was getting a jump on the job situation prior to my Charlotte-relocation (scheduled August 1 - see everyone then!) by completing the on-line job application for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS). Their website indicated that I could also mail in my resume, which was great because the web-based application is for PCs only, not Macs (frustrating!). I have received a letter from CMS stating they would still like me to complete the online application and they have acknowledged that this particular process is not compatible with Macs, suggesting I "go to a friends house".

Ah, just venting.....I found their suggestion quite unprofessional and cannot believe they are eliminating Mac users from conveniently completing their job application.

The job search continues....

I don't know much about computers, but I will suggest you "go to a friends house" and send in the app. If that's all you have to do to secure a job here you should consider yourself blessed. Now suck it up princess.

Or you could apply in Union County where we are Mac friendly. I love my Ibook.

Just mail it in. I sense your feelings are hurt. They receive many resumes and they go unacknowledged so good luck! I do what they say because they hold the jobs!

Thanks; it was mailed in and they still need the online thing.

Sorry for the detailed whine all! There's been, shall we say, a series of unfortunate events involved with my fiance's relocation down there....any little glitch right now has seemed like the end of the world!

The weather should be beautiful tomorrow up here (Portland, OR); good for a stroll to the public library (I think they have PCs )

Just wait until you start teaching for CMS. That will be the least of your complaints. Good luck to you.
