Can someone tell me where in the Charlotte vicinity I can find quality duplexes? My two adult children have an idea that they can pool their resources and live in a duplex, as long as they each have their own separate living quarters, entrances, etc.
I have only been here for a little over a month, so I am not familiar with the area or where there might be duplexes (either up and down or side by side) that they can purchase.

Sandy, hate to tell you, there really aren't many duplexes in Charlotte and the ones we do have aren't always in very safe areas. Your absolute best bet in my opinion is the area of Elizabeth near and into Plaza Midwood. You'd probably want to just ride around the area off Central Ave to find the ones I'm talking about - they are mixed in with regular homes there near Sunnyside Ave, Hawthorne Ave. and Shennandoah. Best of luck!
I know where I live in Cabarrus County (Concord, Kannapolis, etc.) there are a decent amount of duplexes, I don't know if any are for sale and they may not be in the best condition though.
There are some duplexes in Charlotte but many of them are rentals.
The best thing to do would be to get a realtor and ask him/her to research it for you.
