Was skimming the Charlotte Observer's website and came across the article on 2008 Charlotte Shout Culinary Arts Experience:

This is my first poll, but I've listed the Restaurants instead of individual items. Just curious which ones you'd go to if you only could choose up to five. I picked this number cuz the article says most things cost 3 or 4 coins and you get 20 coins for $25.

I'd go for the seafood. However, if one loves lamb . . . Sonoma would be nice. And those kebabs at Cafe Sienna look great, too (love bananas foster . .. yummy!!!)

Difficult decision but I chose the goat cheese salad and crabcakes. DH and I intend to be there tomorrow and Encore on Sunday for his surprise birthday gathering!

Food is our family's favorite past time.

I voted for the lobster dumplings too, but I gotta admit, those sloppy joes from Harpers caught my eye just cause it seems like something drastically different other options that seem much more like gourmet choices

I would pick things that are off the wall, or that I would never make at home.

I mean, ribs and crabcakes are good, but where's the gourmet and the innovation?

What in the world is "adult ice?"

Also, blood orange cheesecake sounds fascinating.

None for me. I'm a plain, old meat & potato kind of guy. In fact, I like plain - to - lighlty seasoned food and will do my best not to let the different portions touch on my plate. So, while these dishes in the poll may stir the appetite in some, it's lost on me.
