Well, I wouldnt' call Weddington's dress code a uniform exactly, but it is much stricter than most of the other schools in the area. Students cannot wear jeans and must wear certain colors (T-shirts are ok as long as they are the right color.) No insignias of any kind unless it is the school's shirt.

I found dress codes and uniforms a wonderful idea. It saved time in the morning and kept me from yelling about what they put on T-shirts and khaki's is a dress down day for my sons. Everyday, they have to wear shirt, tie, blazer, dress pants, and oxford type shoes. My 11 year old looses his blazer at least once a month. I'm loving this idea. Being from the inner city, some type of uniform is required for all the public schools so I guess this is not new to me. Plus it saves a heck of a lot of money in not having to worry about brand names.

Well, I hear you there. My kids prefer jeans or shorts. Did you see that you can't wear shorts above the knee at Marvin Ridge???? I have never heard of that.

I have never even heard of shorts that come below the knee but when I talked to my friend with a 20 year old son, she told me that it is the fashion now so I guess I will have to look for them.

I guess it must be a city thing cause my sons wouldn't be caught dead with short on above the knee.
