My friend is moving there soon and has a job right near birkdale. They are looking for a house no more than say $400k. Where are the nicest neighborhoods you can get for this price. They have one small child.

Check out Abbington Woods. Kind of hard to find (which is a good thing). It is behind the Barkley subdivision on BFR, just before the middle school. Great, wooded lots, most homes if not all were custom built. All lots are 1+ acres.

Second Monteith Park. Also, McCauley is a great location for someone working in Birkdale, and very family friendly.

yes, my friends office building is right across from Birkdale but she's willing to be about 10 min away.
I'm not sure what else I can tell you that they are looking for. They would like the development to be between $300-$400k, have amenities for their toddler (pool etc) and close to her work (right across from birkdale). There will need to be near some good preschools as well. Are their any recomended ones in the area for preschools?

Whytewulf, what do you know (or what have you heard) about the Vermillion subdivision? We're looking in there right now. We're a little cautious, because it is not nearly complete, and with things the way they are.... It rarely comes up when folks are discussing neighborhoods in Huntersville, just curious if there is something I don't know about.
