My husband and I want to move to Charlotte. We love the Riverbend neighborhood homes and we want to be close to the lake. We also like Caldwell station but we are worried that the light rail will be put there someday. What area is best to live? Is mountain island lake ok for a 19ft boat?

I have been to Lake Norman and love it. My husband is just worried about the noise of the train if it is right by Caldwell station neighborhood. But we love the area. We are thinking of a neiborhood by Mountain Island Lake-Riverbend.

Nothing wrong but another agent was sort of making us nervous about it. i am a little concerned about any noise from the train.

Be sure that you're in Riverbend between 4-6pm. I've heard the evening landing patterns at the airport bring low flying planes right over the neighborhood.

Light rail trains are very quiet, in fact too quiet, When they first came to Portland and elsewhere, there were accidents until people get use to these trains, and realize they have to look at the train crossings for approaching trains. I know I nearly got hit at a crossing when they started, and was shocked how quiet they were, the only sound I heard was his horn to signal me to stand back. The horns by the way are only used to signal someone that doesn't see the train coming, otherwise they do not use horns at all.
