Surprisingly there have been quite a few in area 5 (south Charlotte) since 1-01-2009 per MLS (total of 18). Currently there are 20 homes in area 5 >$600,000 under contract.
Total of 40 sales over $600,000 in all of Mecklenburg County since 1-1-2009. Some of these were new construction and may have been under contract for quite some time.
24 sales >$600,000 in Union County since 1-1-2009 - 16 were new construction. MLS shows 20 homes currently under contract in the >$600,000 price range in Union County.
Curious, anybody know of ANY homes above $600G in contract or sold lately?
Yes, several under construction on Lake Norman. Not like before, but still ongoing. There is a whole new, giant developement that just began on Catwaba Avenue in Cornelius that will host at least 100 homes in that category. They have broken ground and began. Sales here are slow but picking up. Nothing to do with the ridiculous stimulus package.
According to my realtor magazine, there's about a 4 yr inventory of homes in the charlotte area from 500k-1M. They aren't moving.
Some are moving, some aren't.
The age old rule still applies: location, location, location....
