Is there a good spot in Charlotte to watch the sunset or sunrise?

It depends upon what kind of view you are seeking. For a panoramic view of sunrise , travel out S.Blvd until it drops to 2 lanes. Continue about 2 miles uphill. You'll have to park your car somewhere , but you get a decent view here. Another good view is S.Tryon , coming uphill from Lake Wylie. 2 other views of sunsets can be had on 29 South from Concord , beyond the speedway , and 49 South , past 601. Aside from parking decks , these are the only intown views I can think of. Unless you are partial to the views on 4th street , about 7 A.M. , or S.Boulevard , over 277. There are some views east of here , but you have to have good eyes to see the skyline.

it's a little drive north 77, but if you can make it to lake norman, really anywhere on the lake it's breath-taking.
