Hi everyone,

I recently moved to Charlotte in March and am looking for somewhere in the South Park area that offers Pilates classes. I'm looking for a place that would be good for beginners. Thanks for any suggestions!!

You might try giving them a call. Looks like private seesions are $65, duet $45and group $30 per class. Looks like a nice studio on line.

That's seems pretty pricey to me, $30 per session? Must keep the riff-raff (like me!) out

The Harris YMCA has Pilates classes - you might check that out!

I guess I should have asked if Miss Jen was looking for a real pilates studio that has the reformer machines or if she was just looking for classes like Charlotteborn mentioned. I think $30 bucks a session at a studio is about right, pricey but I understand it's an excellent work out. I worked with a gal who taught pilates and she did a floor workout with me and it made me a believer. A real reformer machine costs about 5 to 7 grand, I bought the cheap version off of QVC about $350, but it's a great workout!

I'm actually just looking for a beginning to intermediate level class that meets two to three times a week. If the YMCA has classes, that would be great. I'm not really interested in joining the YMCA for anything else, so does anyone know if they have limited memberships for people that just want to attend yoga or pilates classes?

Hey Jen-glad you answered back. So your not looking for an actual studio. Here's the YMCA website, you can choose the Y closest to you and view their class schedule.

YMCA of Greater Charlotte

Ages 16-29 is $49.95 per month and ages 30-64 is $64.95 per month, plus a $25 joining fee. They do offer some great classes and the times and days the classes offered were so much better than Peak Fitness, although Peak was cheaper.

Happy exercising.
