We are a young family seeking a nice, safe area with playgrounds close by. Shopping not far away(such as grocery, pet stores, targets etc) An area close to state parks would be nice. Our price range is about 100k-200k. Also, we would love a home with at least a quarter acre. Three bedrooms, one bath and maybe a garage would be nice. Thanks!
If possible tell us which zip codes to avoid and which zips to search for as we are doing an online search and then visiting.

One suggestion is that you research the little town of Mint Hill, just east of the Charlotte city limits. Lots there tend to be larger than in Charlotte and there is nice shopping, a little downtown area and good schools around. Forgot to mention the two parks Here is an MLS # for one home in particular in the Danbrook Park neighborhood: 641108 Look for others in the 28227 zip code. Good luck!

Default Try Rock Hill south of Charlotte

I would love to tell you about Rock Hill. My husband works in Charlotte and his commute is about 20 minutes. Low taxes helps too. Good Luck!!Vicki

You could always try Huntersville 28078. It's a good area with homes selling in your price range.

Default Home in Charlotte

Up to 200K might just be a tad short of getting into the nice areas (Ballantyne, Matthews, Berewick, etc.) Add about 20k and it should be possible to find a nice location for you.
Please let me know and I will be able to help you.
Regards,
Frans

The above statement is incorrect.

You can buy a home in the Ballantyne area all day long under $200K.

Absolutely. To imply that there are no nice areas available for under $200k in very misleading!

Lake Norman is one of the most desireable areas and I can find houses every day of the week for at or under $200k. There are great houses in South Charlotte (I just saw several in Beverly Crest) for $200k and a tad below. Houses in Ballantyne-adjacent are available for $200k, and certainly in Matthews as well.

Plenty of homes in Matthews under $200k. Depends on what you want.
