That rule also applies to Mecklenburg County as well. That's why we installed ours right before the rule went into effect, which was July 09. But on the plus side, your water bill will be lower because you have a separate meter. We estimated paying around an extra $100 a month because we only had one meter and the county takes the most conservative estimate and assumes all our water usage was from inside the home. Therefore, we paid an extra $100 a month in sewer fees during the summer months when we were watering heavily. Our water bill was over $300 in the summer months......yikes.....
I will get a few estimates in the next couple of days, and then I will consider. Last year, we could only water 2 days a week due to drought conditions, so I need to figure if it is worth it to install a system to water a few times, or if I can get by doing it the old fashioned way.
I like the convienience of an irrigation system... less of a pain.
