Does anyone live in the Blakeney apts or know of someone that lives there that could give me a review? I love this place and would be transferring down to that area from NY? Any other apartments that you would recommend from the Ballantyne area would be greatly appreciated (I am looking for a 2bd/2bth costing no more than $1,100.00 a month.) Thanks!

Post Ballantyne as I recall it in that price range and is a pretty good place as far as I know. I've seen them near Johnston Road and they look good.

The key question is....where will you be working...what area of town?

That area is very nice...but a long ways from Uptown, University City, Huntersville...etc...all depends on where you will be workling. GOOD LUCK!

PS - Can't speak for Post Ballentyne cause I have never lived that far out....but did live in a sister Post community Uptown and was the BEST apartment community we ever lived in...so I would check out Post in Ballentyne too.

I'm transferring down without a job but my husband is transferring with his job. He doesn't mind a commute...he cares more about the area that we will be living in rather than driving an additional few mins to work. We really did like the Ballantyne area and saw many properties while we were there....now we have to narrow it down!

The "commute" from that area to uptown is 1/2 hour at worst. Coming from the Northeast, a "commute" of 1/2 hour is also known as going to the store to get some milk. In other words, it's all relevant. I live in this area and love it!!!!

I doubt in rush hr traffic you could get to/from Ballantyne in 30min. Would take 20 min minimum at 3am in the morning...more like 45 at least during rush hr...and wrecks and rain...even longer. Good luck though!

Commute would be at least 45 minutes from that area with rush hour traffic. The apartments at Blakeney look very nice. I have never interacted with them though. Good luck!

My brother rented in Blakeney for a while before he found a house. He and his wife were satisfied with the apartment and the facilities. They liked that the apartments are close to shopping, but not attached to part of a shopping complex, like Post. Also, they are relatively new and super clean. As far as the commute, I go up to Dilworth on a regular basis and it takes me 32 minutes in peak traffic. I usually take Providence rd - no highway. A 45 minute commute to uptown would include me parking the car and getting to my desk. I really don't mind the commute at all, but I would always recommend avoiding the mess at the 485/77 interchange if I could.

My fiancee and I rented at the Apartments at Blakeney and we were very happy with them. The management was responsive to any concerns we had and the apartments are only 1 year old so we had no big maintenance issues. Plus the quality of the materials (carpet, etc) inside the apartments was the best that we saw when we went apartment hunting last September. Would definately recommend it!
