Hi Everyone! My husband and I are planning a last-minute get-away weekend to the Charlotte area and would love suggestions on family-friendly hotels. We've never been to Charlotte and are hoping to be able to relocate there next year. This will be sort of a scouting trip for us. We're thinking that South of Charlotte or the Ft. Mill, SC area might be a good place to start. Thanks so much!!

Please define what you mean by "family friendly" and a desired price point and I'm sure you will get the info you need.

Hilton Garden Inn Pineville, Marriot SpringHill on Johnson Road or Marriot Res. Inn on Rea road.
Also try the Ballantyne Resort...

I recommend the Great Wolf Lodge if you want something for the kiddies but it is located on the wrong side of CLT from Ft. Mill.

I was actually just about to type this until I saw that you had. It would be where I'd go with kids for sure.

I might be mistaken but I thought I heard a few weeks back that they were allowing entry into the water park without needing a hotel stay during October. It was something like forty bucks per person but that'll require a phone call to make sure I heard right.

Thanks Everyone! We decided to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge and absolutely LOVED IT!! The lodge in Concord was fantastic! The staff were wonderful and the commute to Ft. Mill, SC was a breeze. We've got a fingers-crossed that Charlotte will be one of the places my husband is offered a transfer in the Spring.
