I would like to get a list of good TV channels that show the least number of commericals. I know that PBS and similar locally funded channels are good bets, but I would like some suggestions. Commercials are necessaryI understand, but I want to program my favorite channels to the lesser "disturbing" commercial light channels. Thanks for the help!
Good luck with that one. The only channel I can think of with less commericals is BBCA. I notice that it is hard to buzz past the commercials because the breaks are shorter and I usually go past the start of the show and have to rewind.
If you are really that concerned about it the best recommendation I can give you is to get DVR.
HDNet is like Japan where they show the commercials after the program is over. History International doesn't run many commercials and unlike the related History Channel, HI still shows history. I don't know if it is on cable in Charlotte but has been on satellite for years.
Otherwise most cable channels these days are unwatchable without a DVR.

and the car commercials are ridiculous. It drives DH crazy...

Between the ridiculous amount of car commercials and the amount of spots Morris Jenkins buys....
We DVR almost everything and fast forward through the commercials. It's the only way to watch tv.
