Hi all! thanks for looking at my post!

I am currently interested in finding out any information you can give me on top quality (olympic caliber) barns and instructors near C'ville (preferrably withing 30-45 min)

I currently live in Long Island, NY but will be moving within the year to VA and my current instructor is quite distressed over my leaving so he will not help me with any advice as to finding a top quality instructor in VA.

I have one horse (hoping board will be no more than $550 a month) and we currently compete in fourth level dressage-generally winning- and have just begun competing in jumping. I have olympic aspirations (certainly at the dressage level and possibly eventing) and a super talented horse and I am looking for any possible barns that would meet my needs.

any help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks so much!

Hello and welcome to VA! That sucks that your instructor is so bitter over your move he won't help you. Personally I am not a horse person and not too sure where to find the kind of quality stables you're looking for. However, in the Charlottesville area, in the Keswick district of the county are a large amount of very, very wealthy people and I'm sure they probably could reccomend something. Many have horses and big farms. Farther away the VA Horse Center is in Lexington about an hour away. Don't know how the quality is. Goochland county to the east of C-ville I hear has some wealthy pockets that has hosted polo games between I think England and the US. To the north about an hour is Faquier county, that and I believe parts of Loudoun counties are considered the VA hunt country. As in fox and hound type hunting. That area is big into polo and anything to do with horses. It's even been featured on a few shows pertaining to the subject. Maybe you could make some inroads into these communuties and find out good quality horse boarding and training facilities. Hopefully somebody that actually knows something will be able to guide you for the local area better than me. I would be surprised if C-ville/Albemarle didn't have what you're looking for. Good luck!
