Interior Decorator wonders if there's any work in CHA (real estate market, house)

Hi, I'm posting on behalf of my friend who's moving up from Naples, FL. Seems to be a migration...who knew?

My question is ...is it possible for her to find work as a decorator there. She was quite successful in Naples, but there's a lot of disposable income there and million dollar homes.

She's got an interesting niche market. Her company is called Budget Beautiful and she'll help you take a lot of what you already have and work it into the design. She also uses stores like JC Penny and Rooms to Go so the client doesn't have to pay outrageous sums for a beautiful design.

Another thing she can do is stage your house to sell using a lot of what you already have. In this real estate market I would think that would be a great business to be in, but it takes a while to build the clientèle. She's dreading having to go back to a 9-5 job.

with no client base perhaps she could look for someone/some company that offers a similar type service. She may not own the client/business, but would at least gain experience and obtain references till she strikes out on her own.

...unless of course the place where she works stipulates that she signs a "non-compete" contract. That could put a damper on things unless she's content to make $ for someone else.
