Since TN doesn't really get much in the way of snow, I was wondering if there were any good locations for riding a mountainboard?

I'm looking for grassy open downhill areas or trails that offer a lengthy dowhill type of experience. I assume with all those awesome mountains, there must be a few sweet spots for it.

I have yet to see any Mtn Boarding around here (and I'm a Mtn Biker). While we do have mountains, the trails are usually rocky, rooted, ruted, and steep! This does look like a fun sport and I sure hope someone chimes in with more knowledge than me. (probably won't be hard )

..Our Church in Soddy could give ya a nifty ride, but don't bring a crowd.. Is your ride like
a snow -board.? I did lots of snow skiing up north. Also some Grass skiing at Catamount
in New York State.. We do get one or two days of snow here.
1st time I actually saw this parish I thought it was a ski lodge on top of hillside, big white windows.

Whew good luck with that around here. NOW, if you have a cardboard box and want to flatten it and hit the grassy knoll in North Chattanooga where all the kids go, have at it, it's fun! LOL, but very, very short for an adult

I wonder if Cloudmont would let you use their slopes during the summer... About an hour south-west of Chattanooga near Mentone, AL.

Just looked up Cloudmont and Ober Gatlinburg (both not in Chattanooga - but have ski resorts). They are closed for the off season unfortunately.

That I knew, and I know they'll never be open with regular weekly hours during the summer, but maybe if a group of mountain-boarders contacted them for a special 1-day event. Rent out the hill and lift, so to speak.
