TAXES-Hixson vs. Brainerd
Why are taxes twice as high in Hixson, as compared to the same home in East Brainerd? We're talking $3200 compared to $1600 in Brainerd.

Well, the rates are supposed to be the same, both being considered Chattanooga proper. 25% of total value calculated @ .22 for city and .031 for county. Are both properties considered single family residences? That may be where the discrepancy is.

could it be the property in Hixson is out of the Chattanooga city limits and therefore only being assessed country taxes? That can make a HUGE difference!
