My kids are flying out of O'Hare this week and I was looking at parking options. [vs. taking a cab]

F looks the cheapest... but I can not see how they would get to the terminal from there. It looks like a long walk to either a bus in G or E or that tram thing.

Been ages since i've been there.

any info would be great. OH and I did email them...but i'm guessing a reply could take a week or so.

It has been a long time since we flew out of Ohare, but we parked in the far, long-term parking. there was a shuttle bus that picked us up and took us to the tram location. it was fine.

Not sure if it would be the cheapest, but the economy lot is $17/day and the tram takes about 12 mins to ride to Terminal 1. It's very easy I do it 3-4 times a month. Depending on where you are coming from, I'm sure a cab would be pretty expensive. It all depends on the amount of days that they'd be parking there.

thanks for all the replies.. .

I actually found a link [AD] here on CD to a park and fly kind place. It's about $10 a day, and would keep the kids out of the 'meat grinder' of the airport, as this is a bit south of Irving.

I'll give them their options.

Thanks again.

We have used Avistar parking on Manheim road and been really happy with them. Give yourself about 10 minutes more than you would for the long-term parking, and you will be all set. Their price is <$9/day--you pull into a warehouse, get on a shuttle and are dropped off at the terminal. When you return all you do is call a number on your claim ticket and meet the shuttle at the shuttle pick-up next to the Hilton. When you get to the warehouse, your car is inside waiting.

No affiliation, just a happy customer...

My experience has been a LOT different. I have called ahead only to wait for 45 minutes for my vehicle. I don't like the place.

Now at Midway, Midway Park and Ride does a phenomenal job of getting you to your car and you never have to touch your luggage,

I have ridden the Metra, which also lands at Parking Lot F. The bus/shuttle ride is not too bad.

That is very unfortunately. I haven't had that problem in the dozen or so times we have used them (although there was a 20 minute wait for the shuttle one time when we had a midnight arrival).
