Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question but here goes.
We are thinking of buying a house and right now doing our research.
We made a list of suburbs and then looking at houses based on our price range and room requirement. If we find a house that we like, I lookup the address of the house on schooldistrictfinder.com to find out the school district. For some of the addresses the website shows 2 school districts. I am not sure how to confirm which school district is it going to be.
Also some of the websites like Realtor.com has school information available with the house listing but then when i look up high schools, it shows 3 or 4 high schools.
Is there a way where I can confirm what school district would the house fall into ?

SchoolDistrictFinder.com is not a credible source of information. It does a simple map search without district boundaries.

The easiest way to find out the school assignments is to contact the listing agent. Otherwise if you know the district, most of the local school district websites have boundary maps or search engines to help you find your assigned schools. Once you find your assigned schools you should search for the latest Illinois School Report Card issued by the Illinois Department of Education and visit GreatSchools for a good quality comparison.

Ziprealty is a nice site which allows you to search via a map with a school district overlays. It might not be 100% accurate but it can give you a list of houses in a district then you can search each house via the district website.

Also bear in mind that most communities in the Chicago area are served by a K-8 elementary school district and a 9-12 high school district. There are a few consolidated school districts like Barrington and Elmhurst but most are separated K-8 & 9-12.

Most school districts are not k-8, usually it's K-5 elementary, 6-8 middle and 9-12 high school.
To OP like mentioned the best way to find out exactly what schools a particular house falls under is to ask your realtor. Often times the MLS listing will say as well. Also many larger schools districts likely have numerous schools.

Read my post. I said school districts, NOT individual schools!!
I have my copy of Dun & Bradstreet's Market Data Retrieval Illinois School Directory to cite as my source. I have not found a SINGLE school district that is organized as you describe.

The Great Schools listing on realtor.com is the nearest schools, which may not be the schools the address is zoned for. Best thing is to visit the website of the district you think the house is in and check the boundary map there.

If you are truly interested in the house, I would call the school district office that is listed on the ad, or website and verify with them. That would be the definitive answer!

Huh? I don't know of any school districts that have a separate district for 6-8 that doesn't also include the K-5 elementary. They may have different schools, yes. But not different districts. Most districts are K-8 and 9-12.
