Default affordable apartments to live in???

hello im from milwaukee, wisconsin and want to move to chicago or the chicago area where i can have access to public transportation(el, bus, metra) or all 3 im looking for a place to rent from 450, 500-600dollars for 1bdrm in a good area

ive been to chicagomany times but never in the outside areas close to the city.

im thinkingabout enrolling to depaul next yr.

My advice is to not get a one bedroom and to find someone to split a small 2 bedroom in the city for around $600-650 each (cheaper if you can find it). I taught at DePaul for 2 years and while some students commuted, those that did had a much harder time. It would probably be better to live closer and find a roommate (there are a lot of message boards, craiglist, etc that can help you)
