I am posting this only to find out if others have experienced the same thing. I have shopped at two nice suburban malls, Northbrook Court and Woodfield Mall. In both places I've had groups of guys and girls (I'm guessing their teenagers) try to either ask me for money, and pester me until it's becoming bullying or try to push me out of the way with their bodies (as if they will ram into me if I don't jump out of the way in time). I've never experienced this when I've shopped at places in Chicago, even on busy Magnificent Mile and I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them.

The rude behavior of these cliques makes shopping at Walmart a pleasure.

Dont let them push you off to Wal-Mart ! I have never experienced such a thing shopping at both malls, but I would strongly suggest you pay attention to a description of them and go right to security. They will take care of it, no one should tolerate that behavior.

Not at all! Definitely go straight to security and they will kick them out. I never even had that happen in Brooklyn, let alone a nicer mall.

Sounds a bit far fetched. If anything they are very, very, very, rare occurrences. I mean at the Brickyard, Ford City, or Lincolnwood I could picture it happening but not in the places the OP mentioned.

I've never had this experience. At the local malls I visit, security will "break up" groups of teens that are too large. They have a policy that groups of 4 or more have the right to be split up if any distubances are noted. It is posted on the security office next to the restrooms. Definatley contact the security office!

My post is definitely serious! I'm very surprised that you would think that!

Thank you to those who gave me helpful advice! The only thought in my mind is that I might appear to be someone they think they might know from High School and that is why they're acting that way to me, even though I've graduated from there a long time ago. As I posted earlier, I've never had this problem in any place in Chicago, even when I shopped at the Brickyard (a few years ago) which had some gang problems back then.

I was just wondering if it was only me or not, that's all.
