Smile Chicago vs. Cleveland

How do the two American cities of Chicago and Cleveland compare? What are the pro's and con's of both cities? Both were named World Cities, which is impressive because Cleveland is much smaller than Chicago. There is a similar thread in the Cleveland sub-forum.

Must this be discussed again or at all? Besides you are asking in the wrong section. This is the burbs section.

I am mostly focussing on the suburbs. The inner-city matters as well though and most posters are on the suburbs thread.

Cleveland suburbs are for those who are slow and boring. Chicago suburbs are fast and hectic. Both metros have a normal mix of rich and poor, although I prefer the fast, in-yous-face wealth of Chicagoland to the passive-aggressive-hidden-snobbery of wealthy Greater Cleveland.

Of course, I'm not native to either, I'm from Metro Detroit. I lived in the Akron area and spent much time in Cleveland's burbs, and now live in Champaign and am up in Chicagoland at every opportunity.

I lived in both cities. Thought it was hard to earn a living wage in Cleveland area due to poor education. I like Chicago better due to a greater quantity of job opportunities. But Cleveland struck me as a nicer place to be. Didn't carry the "up yours" attitude Chicago does at times.
