Hello everyone,
I am going to visit Chicago in January and would like to know what places in downtown are worth a visit.

Ouch...January haha. If you were experienced in dealing with Winter, January wouldn't be a bad time to come, but since you're from Florida, you might run into some problems haha

Anyway, there's a lot to do in the Windy City, but here's some super touristy things I can think of for you haha

-Skydeck ledge at the Willis Tower (Sears) Tower. You can walk 3 feet and stand something like 1,351 feet above the street below :O
-Shedd Aquarium is a fun place to be go. They have a ton of amazing things to look at, including a tunnel in which you can walk under sharks.
-Other museums you might want to consider: Field, Science and Industry, Art Institute, Planetarium, as well as others
-Eat dinner or lunch at the 95th I think it's called. It's on the 95th floor of the John Hancock.
-Millennium Park/the bean obviously
-Take the L somewhere..Clark and Belmont, Wrigleyville (Clark and Addison) both are on the Red and Brown Lines.
-Navy Pier...although I'm not sure how exciting that will be in the winter
-The Mag Mile, The Water Tower for all of your shopping needs and desires.
-There are a ton of things to do at night in various parts of the city north of downtown, and assuming you're staying downtown, you'll have no problem using public transit to get there, the Red and Blue Line run 24 hours and the rest of the lines run the vast majority of the day.

There's plenty more, but I don't know how long you're staying...
