^ I'd never heard of that! Looks AWESOME if it's true. I can just print them out and start using? $40 for $100 in credit on a lot of them. The website doesn't really give a lot of background information from what I can tell. Using it for alcohol...expirations, etc. I'm going to look into it though!

Restaurant.com gift certificates never expire and the rules and regulations for each restaurant are clearly posted. Some won't include alcohol in the price, others will only let you use it Sun-Thurs. You just have to check each one.

Some of the certificates have an automatic gratuity attached to them so don't be alarmed if you see that on a bill.

iDine is another useful program; you get rebated up to 15% of the check, and it's automatic (no coupons to process). I choose airline miles instead, but there is a cash option. IIRC, they have an ample network of restaurants in Chicago.

My son recently moved to Chicago from Atlanta, and I'd like to buy him an Entertainment coupon book for Christmas. There are two editions: North and South/West. He lives in Streeterville, so I'm not really sure which book would cover restaurants/attractions in that area. I thought the North book might be the right one, but I looked at the neighborhoods covered and they all seemed to be much further north than Streeterville. Does anyone know which one I should get or have any thoughts/opinions on the Entertainment books for Chicago? We get one every year in Atlanta and make great use of it. Thanks!

The current code, which looks like it expires tonight, is SPOON. It's for 80% off, so the price is $2 for a $25 certificate.
I have had a lot of trouble with those.
They often sell more than is authorized.
I have a bunch that places will no longer honor

There is also gDine Exclusive. They offer some discount on higher end meals.

You're correct that the South/West book covers downtown. He's not likely to go up to the North territory all that often.
