Maybe people should discover the joys of cycling through their neighborhoods, which would relieve the congestion and save the taxpayers 50 to 100 million dollars (do you really think the city will build this for 45 million).

Man, I don't want to cycle through the neighborhoods; I cycle for recreation and for that the path is well suited. When I want to go somewhere I walk, drive or take the CTA.

Do you have a link from a respectable group that has done its homework on this?

How about every newspaper, tv station and radio station in Chicago, will that do? Have you just moved here? Google Millennium Park for the most recent example of Chicago's track record of completing big projects on time and on budget.

Give me a link then. The burden of proof is on you. You made a claim that you claim you can back up, so do it.

Show me how more cycling in the neighborhoods is going to save "50 to 100 million dollars."

Is that per year? In ten years?

Your claim sounds like a lot of hot air.

I find it funny you should say that. You don't live in the city do you? Look at my profile. You tell me what it says.

^I think he means by not building this bridge the city would save 50-100 million dollars. However that's wildly inaccurate given that if Chicago doesn't use this 50 million bucks to build this bridge, the funds will go to another city to build something similar. Chicago can't just pocket the grant money.

I ride through the neighborhoods in many areas of the city. I like the bike path better. Thanks for the sage advice. Anyway, they may or may not build it. I will continue to ride my bike either way.

As much money as this city wastes I wonder why people are getting so bent out of shape over this bridge.

You know why?

Several CTA stations can be rebuilt with the money spent on this stupid bridge.
