look Im from the southside I have a high tolerance for crime but ppl
who pay 1,2k a rent for month should not have to tolerate crime.
whats the point of working hard so you dont have to live in the ghetto
if the ghetto is going to just come to you. I would honestly restrict access to the northside and downtown if I was rahmn
EXACTLY! I am fortunate that I have worked hard for many years, and want to just live somewhere nice and safe. I want to be able to leave my house without being harrassed by people who dont even live in the area.

Which is why, if they dont fix this problem soon, I wont renew my lease and may even sublet to get out. I may also leave for another city (my employer gives me this option)...one where you are at least allowed to defend yourself and your property from street thugs etc if you are attacked.

the problem. but stats have shown it doesnt really make it any worser

Wow, would that be controversial. It'd be like if you buy and upper deck ticket at the Cell, you are not allowed in to the lower deck, they have ushers checking the ticket of anyone entering the lower deck... Now imagine getting off the L and having to prove you live on the north side to exit the L station!

Something like that would be ruled unconstitutional before the ink even dried.

But they do live in the same municipality as you - Chicago, Illinois.

It seems to me what you really want is to live in a gated community. You're more likely to find this in an affluent suburb than any part of any big city.

Yep.

So in other words, you can make CTA as inaccessible as you want. But south siders are still gonna go to your neighborhood until you put a big old gate around it.

Raising transit cost??? Not while I'm paying my tax dollars to support it. Harassing who you would think would be a trouble maker? I don't think so. Serious criminals can change their clothes. No one wants to be harasSed because of their skin color our anything else. You wouldn't want to be treated that way neither would I.

Welfare reform has to happen! People using government distance to gamble, amusement parks and to buy alcohol shouldn't be part of anything. Mandatory drug testing should be implemented for everyone on government assistance.

Family planning must become the norm for everyone. Start holding each other accountable for what we do. From the president on down to big business to welfare recipients. I think its time for a change.

Back around 8 years ago we'd normally have 400+ murders by the end of August. We're currently sitting at 266.
Good to see numbers coming down
