I'm going to be moving here in about a year and won't know anybody. I would like to live somewhere where other young people live and I have the best chances of meeting people(I'll be 21). Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd like the area to be pretty safe also. I will most likely be going to school at Rush University or St Xavier.

Lakeview, Lincoln Park, maybe Logan Square.

Some place with a lot of bars and things like that, I just want to be able to go out and meet people and also feel pretty safe when walking around the area. I would want to look for roommates and get at least a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment and not spend more than $700 a month for rent. I would want to take my car but it looks like it would be pretty expensive to keep one there, so I would probably just end up using public transportation.

Geez there are only about a billion threads about this. Young people live all over the city, the usual suspects have already been named. If you end up going to St. Xavier, you'll probably want to keep your car.

And be prepared for a very long commute. At least during rush hour.

Yea St. Xavier really isn't even in Chicago. You will definitely want to keep your car and live on the north side of the city. Far far away from St. Xavier.

You're right, I just meant it's pretty far from downtown.

And even farther from the popular north side neighborhoods. It has a lot more in common with Evergreen Park and Oak Lawn than Lincoln Park and Lakeview.
