Does U of Chicago or Northwestern U accept students from DePaul?

I am going to be an undergrad at DePaul University studying business, but would like to transfer to Northwestern or even University of Chicago. They have the best Business school in the nation! I am willing to transfer to a higher ranking school for a better chance to get in. I know UC and NU are very competitive, but I have what it takes to be a candidate and get in. I just do not want to be overlooked because DePaul is lower ranking despite having a very good program themselves.

Thank you for all your insight and thoughts. It is very appreciated.

No you will definitely not be overlooked. Just make sure you have a lot of extra curricular activities and a gpa that's ridiculously high. Best of luck, University of Chicago is ridiculously hard to get into.

Why wouldn't they? DePaul is a well respected school. If you can't get in to NU or UC its because of your grades, experience, test scores, etc. Not because of DePaul.

While the University of Chicago and Northwestern University may be top-tier, DePaul is still a great school in its own aspects. A friend of mine during high school wanted to go to Northwestern so badly, but was ultimately rejected. Instead, he settled down for the business program for undergraduates at DePaul, and since then he's been doing extremely well: making a name for himself and getting internships with well-known companies; great positions too mind you. Simply put, don't let the name on a piece of paper. Get involved in what interested you, as well in your career-degree. But to answer your question, yes. if you're planning on transferring to either institution be prepared to shell out every card and trick you have to impress the admissions committee.

Exactly. Names help you get a foot in the door, but that might be as far as you get. You will find that there are tons of successful DePaul grads that are doing just as good and even better than their peers at UC and NU. It boils down to what you do while at college not what school you went to. Also DePaul is also one of those schools that the name will get your foot in the door.

U of C does NOT offer an undergraduate business program.

From people I know who went to U of C for undergrad, the undergrad programs are not wonderful and campus life is terrible for undergrads as well (unless that has changed significantly - the people I know who went there went quite some time ago)

I knew several people who went there and loved it. I imagine it's all relative to your expectations and personality type. It's so important to pick a college that fits you.

I don't know so much about the undergrad programs, but I have heard from several people that the campus life sucks at UC.

Yes it does; worse be when several out-of-state students think that Chicago is composed of campus, downtown, Chinatown, and any area that spans up to Lincoln Park.
