Safe to live near Lake View HS? (Byron, Irving: renting, crimes)

Gangs are nearly everywhere in Chicago. That being said, anyone can paint anything anywhere. It doesn't mean that gang members live nearby, and the fact that the incident was near a high school amplifies this possibility. Even if they do live there, they can mark their territory all they want, but how much they "control" the area, whether anyone actually respects their authority, and how much gang-related crime that they perpetrate is going to vary widely. In an area like that, they'd most likely more on the lines of dumb bored kids with spray paint than seasoned gangbangers.

There are million+ dollar homes literally across the street from the high school. It's not a shady area by any reasonable standard.

What I was getting at, was that the overall big picture of gangs and crime was coordinated at the higher levels by the larger central banks (there is a "theory" that the central banks and big six mega-banks have been "conspiring" together over the decades to run the drug trade).

But as far as the problems last year, with the large mobs of angry wanna-be thugs hanging out at North Avenue Beach on Memorial Day, attacking innocent people on their bikes, yes those people need to go to prison and yes, no one in Lakeview likes those people, and we want those people to go away and leave us alone...forever! If you are one of those people, then guess what, we dont like you, and we dont care what you think about that. And so we were wondering "why did this mob form? Why did thousands of jerks show up at the same time and at the same place, and why was this happening in most major cities at the same time?" And so there had SOMEONE coordinating this and communicating it out...is it Louis Farrakhan, or some high profile blogger? I dont know.

Why are you not enraged about the mob action on the lakefront, where they punched people, pulled innocent hipsters off their bikes, etc? Were you one of them? Are you one of the people who threatened to kick a gay man's dog on Belmont last year? Are you one of those people? Why in the world would you defend that kind of behavior anywhere, in lakeview, or anywhere else?

The point is that you have zero hesitation in bringing up all sorts of crime in Chicago even when it's completely uncalled for and unwarranted, including this thread. In fact, it seems your sole purpose on this board is to warn everyone of whatever impending crime wave you perceive, and whether or not the person is/would be in actual danger is irrelevant. It's annoying.

I lived in Boystown lat year, and the crime wave that existed (and yes it was real, it wasnt my imagination) existed partially because there was a perception that the people who lived there were easy gullible targets. I feel that by raising awareness that there are packs of jerks targeting yuppies in lake view, that I am doing people a favor. Im raising awareness so that people will stay alert and not be a victim.
