We have Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville for the 20-something's. Which neighborhoods attract preppy and sporty 30-something's? I'm new to Chicago, I like hanging out in LP and W, but the people are a bit young.

Gold Coast in the Viagra Triangle area. River North at certain bars.

And preppy and sporty mean what exactly?

What do you like to do, play sports? Which sports?
Do you like to go to bars? Clubs?

Does that mean you make a certain amount of money?

Baseball and soccer. Yes, I love beer and bars. I also like wine. Not much of a clubbing person anymore.

When I say "preppy", I mean college educated people with clean-cut appearances...and not hipsterish, hip-hopish, or redneckish.

Hang out at Lux Bar, Dublin, Gibson's, or Tavern on Rush in the Viagra Triangle

Default Folks are exaggerating differences!

The fact is that for all intents and purposes there are no divisions of desirable neighborhoods by so narrow a limit as a mere decade of age.

Although I sometimes joke about terroizing the hipsters in Wicker Park or Logan Square, unless you are positively aged (as in infirm and needing assitance to get around like a walker / quad cane...) there is no reason why you won't encounter a fair number of people from every major era from recent college grads to active retirees in either Lincoln Park or River North ...

Isn't Lincoln park pretty expensive for an age limit of 20 something.

Uh, you're definitely in the right city. The answer would be everywhere from Gold Coast north to Belmont or so. Chicago definitely has more of a "preppy and sporty" feel than, say, NYC, or LA, or SF.

Also, I never got the sense that Lincoln Park and Lakeview were "only for 20-somethings". Maybe I'm not paying close attention, but I see lots of older people (not that a 30-something is exactly "old").
