I wish Chicago had MORE newspapers that would do a BETTER job of reporting...

We are extremely lucky they are both in business; their revenues tumble every single quarter.

You bring up the pertinent point, though, every time they cut reporters you have fewer people doing real journalism.

There used to be 4 Chicago daily papers. The 2 others: the Chicago American and the Daily News

Newspapers? As in dead trees emblazoned with ink depictions of non-updated news stories from several hours or even an entire day ago that you have to throw into the recycling bin when you're done with them? How quaint! Maybe this will become the next hipster trend.

Keep laughing. The online entities don't make enough money to fund real journalism; by and large what they do is repurpose newspaper's work.

TV doesn't do mich real investigation, either.

Virtually every story of substance you've ever read about Chicago has come from the Trib or Sun Times.

Crain's has quite a few actually, including the story about the CHA paying for poor people to live in luxury apartments. The Reader sometimes has good articles about city government too.
