I was wondering if anyone has tried Peapod grocery delivery and how they liked it and how the prices were. I work a lot and don't like going to the grocery store, so it seems like a good option.

Peapod's prices are too high, exorbitant delivery fees, poor delivery time windows.

Instacart prices are generally not too far off from what you'd pay in the grocery store, zero delivery fees so long as you meet a fairly low minimum (I believe $25 or so), and you'll have your food in about an hour.

I love Peapod.. i get them occasionally, or like when its too bad weather out. their produce and meat are so much better than the Jewel or elsewhere. And better texture! love it. and they lug the groceries right to your door and will put it where you want it, on the counter or whatever.

I am a fan on Instacart. You can choose many stores to get delivery from, including Whole Foods. Their prices aren't too far off from the store (with the exception of Costco). Delivery is always to my door and fees are minimal with a quick turn around. I love filling my cart on the train and scheduling delivery for when I get home from work. If you order $35, delivery is $4. They even have a membership where you can pay $99 (I think) and get free delivery for a year.

Oh crap, listen to this guy. For whatever reason, I thought it was free over $35. Anyway, still cheaper than Peapod and you get your food a heck of a lot faster.

I love Peapod. Yes prices are higher but if you use it only once and a while its a lifesaver. I probably use it half a dozen times a year. No delivery service of groceries will be free. The costs will be built in somewhere. Its worth it for me though. I like to have heavy bulky things delivered like paper towels and pop, and I use peapod when its cold or rainy, I am not feeling well or pressed for time. You do have to plan ahead though to use it.

Instacart is not available in all places yet...I would try that too if I could. I notice that some people are signing up for amazon prime and getting stuff delivered from there. Its not good for fresh foods obviously but some people get pet food, paper towels, etc. delivered from Amazon. Sometimes you have to buy multiples of things.

Peapod also has a phone app you can do your shopping on your smart phone on the train too. I don't mind the delivery windows at all.

InstaCart changed my life. Six deliveries so far and I LOVE it. Always get what I ordered, even the produce they select is nice. Delivery always on time. I haven't tried PeaPod.
