I lived in West Town for several years, and thought of it as the North Side. Recent, I learned, that historically, it's been considered the West Side.

Which is it?

I consider it the west side personally since it basically goes as far west as humbolt park.

Anything west of 90 i usually consider west side, or at least NW side (for a place like Logan/Avondale).

to me, North side is LP, Lakeview, Ravenswood, Rogers Park, North Center, etc

It has the word "West" in it. Not sure why you would think otherwise (West Ridge notwithstanding).

Depends who you're talking to. People from Bridgeport or Beverly tend to consider almost anything north of Madison to be the North Side. People in Lakeview will probably consider it the West Side. Most folks I've ever known from the West Side consider that part of town to be a narrow strip from about 18th Street on the south end to Grand and then Division once Grand takes the turn northwest.

I consider it the northwest side. The west side to me is Garfield Park and Ausstin.

So River West is the West Side too?

Its all going to come down to semantics and personal opinions, as there is no official boundary for "sides"

I think that map is mostly correct, but I'd throw ohare, Jefferson park, Edison park, Norwood Park & forest glen into the 'Northwest Side' category.
