A little bummed out that the Old Merc Building came down.

It was also 95% occupied when the family who owned it moved to have it razed. Sounds like they had the clout to bring it down and thus it happened. Such a waste though considering nothing substantial has happened on that lot of theirs in over a decade.

Sad to see some of these old buildings go down. Heck me and my brother and some others I know are still upset they tore down the old Chicago Northwestern Railroad terminal on Madison in 1984. Of course it has since become the Citibank building which was originally going to be the Board of Trade extension but got tuned down and used instead to replace the old CNW Station.
