Heck, I'd like to see a train car at the back of the train that doesn't have any seats. It would be great for people with bikes, strollers, and luggage.

I know everyone hates those! I used to take people from out of town on the CTA all the time as it was a great way to see the city. So I had to stop when they changed the seats as who the hell wants to stare at people!

I agree !! That's my point !!

I can understand the empty train cars for bikes and strollers, But I prefer to keep our trains "old skool",
Same thing goes for the "SEARS TOWER"

As of today, the 3200-series have entered service on the Blue Line. Also, CTA is running rush hour trips on the Blue Line using 5000-series cars from the Pink Line (they however are still officially assigned to the Pink Line and are operated by Pink Line personnel).

I'm so thankful for the 5000 series train cars. As a daily blue line morning commuter, I can confidently say that the O'Hare branch is the most congested part of the El. I've easily waited 20-30 minutes for a spot on the train. It's gotten to the point where some days I ride the blue northbound to catch a less crowded train car. However the problem has yet to be alleviated despite the new locomotives.

So are the new ones going to be normal or that horrible new York style? Do we know for sure?

Hopefully the new style. The trains fit a lot more people.
