I'll be in your beautiful city this Fall and noticed that the May issue of Conde Nast Traveler lists among 105 "Hot Tables" the following Chicago restaurants. Have you tried them and what is your opinion please? They are:
1.Aigre Doux, 230 W Kinzie St
2. Brasserie Ruhlmann, 500 W Superior St
3.Sepia, 123 N Jefferson St.
The "Hot Tables" nomenclature is supposed to inidicate that these are fairly new restaurants, so they didn't mention Alinea and Charlie Trotter's but I'd appreciate your opinion of them also especially the Trotter's takeout venue. Thanks in advance.

Trotter's to Go is fabulous. You can get everything you need and then have a great picnic in Lincoln Park or at Ravinia (summer home of our symphony). They even have complimentary parking across the street.

You will love Aigre Doux. It opened more than a year ago and has only gotten better (and it was good to begin with . For the decor and quality the prices are even reasonable. Here is the website: aigredoux
p.s. We have some major conventions in this city and this restaurant can fill days in advance so you may wish to book ahead. They participate in opentable.com and I see a link off their website.

Sepia is a blast in terms of cuisine and atmosphere. They are even open 7 days a week(some of our restaurants close on Monday evening).

I can't speak for Brasserie Ruhlmann. However, you can't go wrong with the other 3.

Have a great time in Chicago.

Default Have a wonderful time in Chicago

You should also try to get in some authentic Chicago food while you are there. Get a pizza from Giordano's. Get some Italin beef from Portillo's. Get an authentic Polish from Maxwell Street.

These are local fare that is also wonderful.

Try to see some of the museums or Navy Pier. Chicago is wonderful!!!

Hope you have a wonderful time
