Get out of town and go to a farm in Indiana (where I will be drinking huge boots of Einbecker Mai Bock and firing numerous weapons). New Year's is amateur night and I avoid bars at all costs on New Year's (St. Pat's too).

Going to the neighbors for a party. They throw great parties: with plenty of good food and booze. Plus, I can just walk home when I've had enough. How cool is that?

We've got no babysitter and a hangover from a party last night, so it's going to be a mellow one in our household.

Drinking and weapon firing sounds like some down home Indiana fun. While you're at it, fill a beer bottle with gasoline, light it on fire, and shoot it with a shotgun. Or light an old dry Christmas tree on fire. YEEEEEE HAAAAAAWW Billy Bob!!!!!

Oh Yeah - Trees won't be dry enough until mid January at the earliest, hoping to have about 200 for this year's burn

I hate going on on New years. Last year I went to Navy Pier and I litterally stood outside in the snow waiting for a cab for over an hour. Im just going over to a little party at a friends place. Nice and simple

That was your problem right there. Navy Pier sucks. And in spite of some wavy somewhat water-evoking signage, Navy Pier still feels disconnected from the city. It's impossible to get a cab on New Years even in the more populated parts of town.
