I will miss WNUA! Regardless of what some opine wether it is jazz or not, I enjoyed it. I will miss Ramsey Lewis and Karen Williams, I will miss Dave Koz, and I will miss not knowing when my favorite musicians will be in town. Without them, I never would have discovered 'Down to the Bone' and for that I will always be thankful. Good luck to my favorites in on air-talent, I hope your next job will be as fulfilling as this one surely was!

You nailed it............ It's about live music coming to the city.

If jazz musicians do not have a outlet to advertise, they will not come.

Not good.......

If you have a hi-def radio, they will still be playing smooth jazz on 95.5 HD2. They will also continue to stream it online.

Default Smooth Jazz Radio is back in Chicago at 87.7 fm

It seems that a new station has popped up in Chicago to fill the void left by WNUA's passing. WLFM, 87.7 was apparently supposed to be a dance format (like Pulse 87 New York) or possibly country/americana, but with WNUA signing off, it immediately flipped to Smooth Jazz and is currently broadcasting programming from "The Smooth Jazz Network". This programming, which includes Dave Koz, and jingles identical to WNUA's without the vocals, sounds familiar. They seem to have some apparent technical glitches, add hopefully, they will add some familiar WNUA personalities. Whether the music is "Jazz" or not, Chicagoland needs this outlet. We do NOT need to lose another radio format in this town! Hopefully, they'll get the word out! In the meantime, switch way down the dial to 87.7 for your "Smooth Jazz" while you can!

Ha, just came across this thread.

I really do miss that station! I was definitely a regular listener. I'm stuck with listening to it at home...on tv.
