Check with the areas around the Chicago universities (like DePaul). Many students have summer subleases available.

I have found that the best summer housing for interns is at the Buckingham. Tons of college kids stay there each summer. Check out their web site at TheBuckinghamChicago.com. It is very affordable.

Ask around to find out where UIC students post their sublet ads. Many would live along the Blue Line, which runs through Rosemont.

our daughter of 20 is also interning in Chicago this summer and we are having difficult time as well. She needs to be by the Brown Line to get her to the Merch Mart. If you are interested in rooming, reply.

Default Intern in Chicago looking for housing

Hi guy,

I'm also interning in Chicago at Northern Trust? Where are you all interning? Therefore I'm looking for housing that is close to Northern Trust Headquarters (50 S LaSalle st) as well as located in a fun area. Let me know.

-Andrew

Hey Andrew, my best advice for anyone looking for temporary housing is to look for a sublet. It's usually the easiest and most affordable way to go, especially since a lot of sub-lessors will offer their furniture as part of the agreement, which makes it a lot more convenient for you since you won't have to haul your own furniture to Chicago.

For sublets, I would recommend Craigslist or Facebook's version of Craigslist- Marketplace. I have used both services and they each worked out pretty well. Marketplace tends to be less shady because each listing is connected to a Facebook account. Also, summer is the easiest time to find a sublet because there are always a lot of college kids going home for the summer, looking to sublet their place.

Good luck
