I have been going nuts, trying to locate a cassette tape I once had of Christian music I particularly loved, purchased years ago. I "used up" one cassette and bought a second one.
Does anyone, by chance, know this album?
I know that the cover was red. One of the songs was "Bless the L-rd, O My Soul," immediately followed by a song that began "How beautiful (can't remember the exact words) are the feet of them who bring good news, good news...." For some reason, I can't remember the rest of the songs.
By any chance, have you any idea what the name of the album is or who made it? The artists?
Thank you for any help or just for trying!! The year was probably in the early to mid '80s, but I don't know. I am terrible at paying attention to the years, artists, etc. I believe the music was simply done by a group of singers that were brought together for the project. There were a few spoken parts, mainly (if not all) Scripture readings. It is likely that it could have been used as a musical praise program. It was all praise to G-d.
I can't believe I've lost it. I loved that thing. If I find it, I will let you know. Fantastic tape, but it has been gone a couple or more years, and I started missing it about two months ago.
Maranatha didn't start diversifying their program until the '90s, but they were the most likely to be involved with material of that nature (Bless the Lord, etc.) unless Vineyard somehow slipped something in.
Realize that the collection you're looking for is probably not available in it's original content - the music is still out there, but in a different collection most likely. There's a few good sites to look through - try this:
I was recently looking for an old treasure from my past - Harvest's Early Works, which I too had on cassete - but even the fact that I knew exactly what I was looking for didn't help me, as every source I found had labeled it a collector's item and raised the price substantially.
But I went directly to the group's site and found more than I was looking for for only a donation! It's surprising how things can open up if we think out of the box.
I did an Ask.com search and Amazon popped up....I would search more but my computer is ate up with viruses and I can't get to Google to do a proper search. Here's what I came up with......this person selling on Amazon says he/she has been listening to gospel music for 30 years so maybe you could send them a message and ask them if they have any idea what it is you're looking for. Good luck!

Maybe this song, sang by a different artist?
How Beautiful
By Twila Paris
How Beautiful the hands that served
The Wine and the Bread and the sons of the earth
How beautiful the feet that walked
The long dusty road and the hill to the cross
How Beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
How Beautiful the heart that bled
That took all my sins and bore it instead
How beautiful the tender eyes
That choose to forgive and never despise
How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
And as He lay down His life
We offer this sacrifice
That we will live just as He died
Willing to pay the price
Willing to pay the price
How Beautiful the radiant bride
Who waits for her Groom with His light in her eyes
How Beautiful when humble hearts give
The fruit of pure love so that others may live
How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ
How beautiful the feet that bring
The sound of good news and the love of the King
How Beautiful the hands that serve
The wine and the bread and the sons of the Earth
How Beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ.
How lovely on the mountains are the feet of Him
Who brings good news, good news,
Announcing peace, proclaiming news of happiness,
Saying to Zion: Your God reigns,
Your God reigns, your God reigns,
Your God reigns, your God reigns.
He had no stately form, He had no majesty,
That we should be drawn to Him.
He was despised and we took no account of Him,
Yet now He reigns with the Most High.
Now He reigns, now He reigns,
Now He reigns with the Most High!
It was our sin and guilt that bruised and wounded Him,
It was our sin that brought Him down.
When we like sheep had gone astray, our Shepherd came
And on His shoulders bore our shame.
On His shoulders, on His shoulders,
On His shoulders He bore our shame.
Meek as a lamb that's led out to the slaughterhouse,
Dumb as a sheep before its shearer,
His life ran down upon the ground like pouring rain,
That we might be born again.
That we might be, that we might be,
That we might be born again.
Out from the tomb He came with grace and majesty,
He is alive, He is alive.
God loves us so, see here His hands, His feet, His side,
Yes we know He is alive,
He is alive, He is alive.
He is alive, He is alive.
How lovely on the mountains are the feet of Him
Who brings good news, good news,
Announcing peace, proclaiming news of happiness:
Our God reigns, our God reigns.
Our God reigns, our God reigns,
Our God reigns, our God reigns.
