I am going to completely ignore the bating on politics . . . I don't know when exactly the Christians are expecting "the rapture" to happen (doesn't sound rapturous to me), BUT there is a church nearby that has scary posters stuck in the yard with pictures of monsters and people running away screaming. They use it as advertisement to come to their church. I guess the subtext is that if you don't join the church, you will be running away screaming like the woman in the pictures . . .it is really gruesome . . . Anyway, there is also the media hype about what is going to happen 12/21/2012, which is the end of the Mayan calendar . . . so I thought maybe there was some agreement that "THE END" is supposed to come at that time.

When are the Christians predicting THE END this time?

I saw you mention this before.....it's a bit extreme but this is what some people believe is going to happen.

I'm not predicting anything but the Bible sure tells us that we are living in the last days. The generation who saw the restoration of Israel (1948) as a nation is said in the bible not to pass away before the Lord returns. So, you do the math......

The 40 year generation is mentioned about a dozen times in the bible.

According to Strauss a generation is born in about a 20 year period and lasts about 80 years.

Many have changed their tune and moved it up to 2016 to not be associated with secular and pagan prophecies

1948 + 40 = 1988

So we're over 20 years past that now. So those old farts won't past BEFORE Jesus comes back, huh? Now the traffic in South Florida can finally clear up.
