Do a gospel search on the word "remember". See how many times Jesus told us to remember what He said. How can we do that w/o the written Word?

My answer: No. In my estimation, the Bible IS the revealed word of God which foretold His coming and recorded His ministry. I don't see how anyone can claim Christ as his savior, yet deny the Biblical teachings of Him.
The bible was canonized in the late 4th century. The fact is, there were thousands if not millions of Christians without a Bible. They were members of Jesus's universal Church created by Jesus, Himself, built on Peter. It's members were Catholic.

From what I know about Francis of Assisi, he did not read the bible and did not trust people who did.

However, the Catholic church made him a saint soon after he died, so they must have thought he was a pretty good Christian.

Why would a Christian want to avoid the Bible, anyway?

I had a relationship with God long before I could ever not only read but comprehend the Bible!

Default About The Heart Of The Matter

It's like being a driver without the Secretary of State handbook for drivers.

It's like buying Allstate Insurance but you don't take to heart the rules and regulations of their insurance policies with everything.

It's like cooking a tasty recipe without all the ingredients and cooking instructions.

It's like buying gardening seeds but you don't do what farmers do to get a harvest in the field.

Only in Christianity can you be 10% philosophical with 10% of the bible and still be called a Christian today----John 8:31 and 2 Timothy 3:16.

Nobody 10% philosophical with 10% of an accounting book if they want to be an accountant-----John 8:32.

Nobody 10% philosophical with 10% of a medical book if they want to be a pharmacist----John 8:32.

Nobody 10% philosophical with 10% of a real estate law book if they want to be a real estate attorney-----John 8:32.

People are what they are------John 8:32.

The bible say what people are enough-----John 8:31 and John 8:44.

Christians know Christians with the bible enough----1 Thess. 5:12.

Good Joe not necessarily a Christian -------1 Thess. 5:12.

Blood boasters not necessarily Christians----Romans 6:1 & 1 Thess. 5:12.

100% bible believers are Christians only----John 8:31 & Matt. 5:18-20.

The body of Christ is with people like this only----2 Cor. 6:14-17.

It's wisdom of man people vs. wisdom of God people----John 8:32.

One group in the flesh philosophical and the other group spiritual with the bible to be a Christian--------Romans 8:14.

And I said then up until Moses no one then could be saved, the reason the "bible" did not start until Moses.

To me there is a vast chasim between the "bible" and scripture.

Scripture is the word of God the bible is not.

However the bible does contain scripture, but not everything in it is scripture.

Yes! one can be a Christian without the bible and there are people who are followers of "The Christ" without even realizing they are, because...they wear LOVE as an outer garment.

In some ways this is true, I think the larger problem is people always telling someone else what they must believe about the bible "or else" rather than letting it's words seek out what a person needs from it.

Funny that you beleive the bible is the word of God, then reject what Jerimiah says that the lying pen of the scribes ADDED to the law of Moses.

I guess that part was not inspired.
