“Heaven is where the police are British, the cooks are French, the mechanics are German, the lovers are Italian and it is all organised by the Swiss. Hell is where the police are German, the cooks are English, the mechanics are French, the lovers are Swiss, and it is all organised by the Italians”.

Just kidding. It is a "faxlore"

At last! A joke to lighten things up. Thanks, Finn. I'd just have to make one change to it. Hell is a place where I'm the cook.

Funny - I thought that heaven was were the poor were forbidden to go. "The poor will always be with us" - I wonder what he meant by poor? Certainly it must have been that the stupid will always be with us...so rich people who are dumb don't show up in heaven...and poor people who choose to be ignorant don't get past the gate - so all that is left are the rich of spirit..."blessed are the poor of spirit" - I guess that means we have to bless the stupid...?

Your cooking is worse than English food?? I don't believe it.

Had a wive like that - very Miltonish .........."I would rather rule in hell than serve in heaven" _ well the old woman has her way - and does rule an ash heap filled with simpltons and she is the queen...personally I would rather serve in heaven...sounds much better and the conditions make it more worth while that having control over a poop pile.

Trust me, Finn. I'm of English descent. I think it's probably inherited.

I'm sorry, but I really don't see the relationship between my statement and your comment. I was pretty much just saying that I'm a lousy cook. Sorry if you interpreted it as meaning something more.

The best food I ever ate was in Barcelona, Spain.

Thank goodness for a sense of humor.
