Since God is never mentioned in the Book of Esther, how relevant is it for us today?

I think as a better question, as a Christian of the new covenant, how relevant is the entire Old Testament?

But to respond to the question, as a recording of a part of the oral tradition of Judaism, I think it is fascinating. As a guide to Christian behavior, I find it has no relevance whatsoever.

Every book of the OT shows us at least one facet of the Messiah. This is often called the 'red thread'.

The book of Esther shows us "the savior of God's people"

Esther was a brave woman who was dedicated to her people.

Like all sons of Adam, she was frail and she had her faults. She also had a facet which was near to God's heart which God used. Therein she was Righteous.

And therein is much for Christians today to learn from.

I wrote down a note to myself the other day to reread this book. I came across a message about it, but now I can't remember what made me want to read it. lol I'm still looking forward to it, though...

It is a book on faith. there is so much to glean from, how could it not be relevant.

Well said

All books of the OT are relevant.

They come to us today as our School Master.

Christianity is a branch grafted on the tree of Judaism.

We must keep in mind all that passed in the age of The Law, so that our walk in Liberty is pleasing to God.

I have just started a Beth Moore bible study on the book of Esther. It is relevant for today's women. We must remember we as Christian women must live for God and NOT the world.
