What have we reduced salvation to ?.

He is an ever present help, who is abundantly available in times of trouble. This is salvation the psalmist continually spoke of and why they crowned him the rock of it.

And you who keep quoting John 3:16 you don't know what you are talking about. John 3:16 is everything about Jesus Christ saving you from a life alienated from him in your mind and thinking,to a life of life and peace in all of your being, if you are not experiencing this as a Christian you too are perishing along with those who have yet to come to the knowledge that their sins ARE forgiven.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

After Jesus said that he said this ....... And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Unfortunately many were offended that Jesus would stoop so low and meet the need of those they looked down upon and worse still freely do good to them who they deemed undeserving.

Well when I was a Fundy I considered anyone who did not believe in the bible and Jesus undeserving of receiving anything of God, especially freely and unconditionally. The gift freely given( not offered)is what turns our hearts back to the Father.

I think that in the minds of many people, that's what it's all about. And "reduced" is a very good way to put it.

Yes it is. The reduced message is the poison in the pot. We would be wise not to eat fom it.
