I suspect that some do attend 'regular' church and stay closeted, and I agree with Paul H that some do not attend 'regular' church because they are questioning 'the system' and starting another denomination will be part of the 'system''.

I've been to a couple UU "churches", and they are NOTHING close to what CU's believe. The UU churches seemed like nothing more than an LGBT gathering center. There was nothing Biblical about them. They seemed like a liberal science workshop.
I agree with you here that the UU does not have an overtly christian base --- the focus is not biblical, but more about talking about society and politics.

Because it is another form of organized religion and most Christian Universalists do not fit well with it.

What are you referring to here with your quote PW? Could you elaborate just a little?

There seem to be tons of Christian churches of all denominations in the U.S. I am just wondering why CU's have not began a movement that focuses on becoming a presence in the community like all the other denominations have. I would like to attend a CU service.

Churches, as all organizations, join a "system" where everybody who believes in the same tenets of a particular faith or creed can join together in ceremony. Why is this a bad thing? Different is different. What exactly does the term "system" mean as you refer to it?

There are i believe two churches that teach universal salvation in my home town of Dallas Texas. They are both located in downtown Dallas proper.

Here is a list of various churches and ministers and groups around the world that are members of the Christian Universalist Assossiation.

However, i understand what Phazelwood is saying. At least my experience is that many CU's who i see around on the internet are to a large extent independent believers, that is to say independent of any denominational observances and or of formal religious practices. And yet there are still many more who go to regular services within various denominations who are closeted because of fear of being excommunicated.

Great topic..

I personally believe we are going to see more and more CU churches as time passes. This is something the Lord has been showing me over the past month or so actually and dealing with me about.

God is saving the best for last.

This is why so much of mainstream Christianity is becoming tiresome to many people, they know there is more to God and they are hungering and thirsting for it.

God himself is setting the stage for people who will walk away from these 'den of thieves' and are walking away from them as we speak. They are sick and tired and know there is MORE TO GOD. Many just do not know what it is yet. So, sometimes they go from church to church, denomination to denomination seeking and never finding.

Everything is organized, timed, and controlled in 'church as usual' for the most part. The Holy Spirit is not free to reign and rule as it should be. People know there is more than the milk and watered down messages they hear over and over. They are searching for deeper wells and someone who is speaking LIFE and not death, hell, and condemnation.

God has been setting the stage for sometime now. More and more are coming to believe in this Universal Love/Salvation of all men everyday.

I believe the reason there are not even more CU churches has do to with God's timing. There is a time and season for everything and even God is in control of that.

Eventually CU will be on television and radio, anywhere the message has not been heard a lot, if at all or just shunned.

People are tired of 'church as usual', not so much 'church'. I know God has saved the best for last and has plans that we can not even imagine right now.

I am wondering why the CU's don't do "home Church" as the early Christians did..They would be like minded Christians gathered together to worship together. I do imagine there are many who probably already do this...somewhere

Actually, many do do home churches. It is a matter of how God leads you, some do home church and others are called to 'buildings'. The point is to gather as it is pleasing to the Lord no matter where.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Don't let the system of Churchianity fool us. Do the research.
I am about to push through Preterism and go further down the rabbit's hole.
They won't know what to call me Many others are doing the same.
Christ is not complex, He doesn't hate, He doesn't despise. He loves.
He wants us to do the same....no matter what.
Going on vacation, so I will see you all soon. Blessings.
