While the entire line of scripture are records, the outstanding record of scripture on earth and the scripture of final authority is the published text and form of the AV 1611 KJV Holy Bible.

All KJV Holy Bibles are editions of the AV 1611 KJV first edition, reprinted a billion times and loved by Christians for over 400 years.

Much to the detriment of the original message of Jesus!

KJV was a remarkable work, every bit as influential to the creation of the modern English language as was Shakespeare and Chaucer.

But there was a dark side too, which was the continuation of the basic doctrines of unending punishment and biblical inerrancy.

In some ways, KJV is the victim of the Septuagint, and problems with that translation from Hebrew. But even as a product of the Reformation, KJV perpetuated the terror that the medieval Roman and Eastern churches imposed on the people over whom the rule.

Thank God our knowledge of Biblical Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek has progressed so that we no longer have to suffer the many errors made in the KJV. In all fairness, they were working with the tools at their disposal at the time. But in all fairness, as well - we have better tools, and better translations.

I DO enjoy the language in the KJV, though. Very beautiful.

Also note that the English language has changed drastically in FOUR HUNDRED YEARS. Heck, it changes every year!

A good demonstration of this is the King's observation of Sir Christopher Wren's St. Paul's Cathedral in 1710: He proclaimed it amusing, awful, and artificial. At the time, amusing meant pleasing, awful meant awe-inspiriing and artificial meant artistic. Some of those word in the KJV don't necessarily mean what they meant in 1611!

But I do love the Psalms in the KJV. Since the Psalms are poetry, the old language sometimes adds to their beauty.

RESPONSE:
Don't you think that the Codex Sinaticas, c. 325 AD, which is available on line in translation, might be a bit more authentic then a bible written in 1611 AD?

Yes, indeed! One of the fascinating things about our language - heck, any language! Your example is a great one. One I would suggest is the word "Naughty" which had different connotations then (it was all for naught). Even the idea of naughty as a little bad is a further evolution of what naughty meant earlier.

Even at the time, the KJV was employing archaic English forms! An interesting study is on the social distinctions that words such as "thee", "thou", etc relate - and how the KJV entirely changed these. There is a famous line (can't remember who): "Don't thee "thou" me!" Ha ha - old English grammar humor.

The truest scientific explanation ofSola Scriptura Theology is the record theory. The Record Theory independently answers the questions of final canonization (books and words) and final authority. The dynamic evidence of the Purified Text Theory supports the record theory. KJV 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. While the entire line of scripture are records, the outstanding record of scripture on earth and the scripture of final authority is the published text and form of the AV 1611 KJV Holy Bible. All KJV Holy Bibles are editions of the AV 1611 KJV first edition, reprinted billions of times and loved by Christians for over 400 years.

The words of the AV 1611 KJV Holy Bible are divinely transmitted, (infallible, infinite, eternal) inspired, preserved, canonized and purified. KJV Psalms 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. The evidence is exhaustive, categorical and conclusively demonstrates the manuscript evidence, bible canonization, billions of KJV Holy Bibles, bible doctrine, computational linguistics, the testimonies of millions of Bible martyrs and the entire development of higher education at Paris, Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Yale, Princeton.

Sola Scriptura historical pre-millennial hermeneutics and Sola Ecclesia allegorical sitzinleben a-millennial hermeneutics are contrasted. The redaction theory, accommodation theory, higher criticism, j.e.d.p. documentary hypothesis, N.T. literary form criticism, two sources q-documentary theory, and liable theory are contrasted with the record theory and the purified text theory.

When Webster collated the English language, 1828, his dictionary matched the KJV Bibles exactly. The earlier bibles, Wycliffe Bible 1362, Tyndale Bible 1522, Coverdale Bible 1535, Great Bible 1539, Geneva Bible 1560, Bishops Bible 1568, were not completed English. All KJV Bibles are editions of the AV 1611 KJV Holy Bible first edition. Language is word definition. KJV 2 Timothy 1:13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

The Record Theory suggests that the Holy Bible in heaven is identical to the AV 1611 KJV Holy Bible on earth. The human finger prints (typographical errors, spelling errors, missing words, etc.) document divine testaments and covenants between God and man. Exo 20:24, Deu 30:19, Deu 31:28, 1Ch 16:4, Ezr 6:2, Job 16:19, Isa 8:2, Joh 1:19, Joh 1:32, Joh 1:34, Joh 8:13, Joh 8:14, Joh 12:17, Joh 19:35, Act 20:26, Rom 10:2, 2Co 1:23, 2Co 8:3, Gal 4:15, Php 1:8, Col 4:13, 1Jn 5:7, 1Jn 5:10, 1Jn 5:11, 3Jn 1:12, Rev 1:2

Text Perfection Hypothesis would suggest that the Holy Bibles in heaven are not identical to the AV 1611 KJV Holy Bibles on earth. The Bibles in heaven are 100% without typographical errors. As silver is not 100% pure, the words of the Lord on earth are as pure as silver purified seven times.

Purified Text Theory Matthew 24:35, John 17:17, 2 Timothy 3:16, Psalms 40:7, Hebrews 10:7, Colossians 1:13, Hebrews 11:5
Psalms 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

There are two types of bibles, Holy Bibles and Corrupt Bibles.

There are two lines of manuscripts, Holy Syrian Manuscripts and

Corrupt Alexandrian Manuscripts.

KJV 2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

The central critical fact remains that while the entire line of scripture are records, the outstanding record of scripture on earth and the scripture of final authority is the published text and form of the AV 1611 KJV Holy Bible.
