"He stood, and measured the earth; He beheld, and discomfited the nations; And the eternal mountains were scattered, The everlasting hills gave way: His ways are everlasting."
God is eternal but mountains and hills are not.
Well, I believe everlasting life is everlasting. Again, it is ok for you to disagree.
I think what people fail to realize but not understanding that Aionios is referring to age-enduring is that they don't see that God is Trumpted the next age of His Son's reign.
I don't know who is disagreeing that Jesus promised eternal life. What we are discussing here is whether the verse in Matthew 25:46 with regards to the word "eternal" means ETERNAL as we understand the term today. The evidence I have presented shows that is not the case. But if you believe it does mean that then you would also have to believe that the "everlasting punishment" is also ETERNAL, meaning it had no beginning as well.

Psalm 90 v 2 says God is from everlasting and 'before the mountains'. God was 'always there' before the mountains.
So, can't everlasting punishment have 'always been there' ? There as a punishment for any wicked ? - Psalm 92 v 7
God lives forever - Rev. 10 v 6 - so can't everlasting punishment live forever in that the wicked are destroyed forever ?
-2nd Thessalonians 1 v 9
When you call people ET'ers - you defeat your above stated purpose.
I don't understand, are you saying that ETers is an offensive remark? I guess I don't see someone calling me a UR as offensive since I hold that doctrine.

We have to be specific on the verse and the specific words translated as everlasting or eternal. Sure the wicked will eventually be no more for the "REST of ETERNITY" but not for ETERNITY since Eternity has no beginning and the wicked obviously have existed.

Yes, I've made this same point recently too.
1 Peter 3:18-20 indicates too that God's mercy is ALSO everlasting, and so after some eons, there can again be a chance at redemption.
Wouldn't it suffice then, to say that going to Hell would suck in a pretty big way, and as Jesus said, you really don't want to go there. IT would be better to cut off your penis . Isn't that close enough to the point that we can all agree?
