I believe that all in the book of life are there only by the grace of God. It is He who made the vessels of mercy and vessels of indignation before they were did anything good or bad in life as written about in Romans 9.

If none are righteous, why did God always look for righteousness?
"For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His pleasant planting [the plant of His delight]. And
He looked for justice, but behold, [He saw] oppression and bloodshed; [He looked]
for righteousness (for uprightness and right standing with God), but behold, [He heard] a cry [of oppression and distress]!" Isaiah 5:7 (AMP)
"For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and
he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for
righteousness, but behold a cry." Isaiah 5:7 (KJV)
Think about it. This NOT about a righteousness that could redeem man; forgive the transgression of Adam __only Jesus could and did satisfy that issue. But it does confirm that man was NOT EVER depraved beyond his ability to cry out to God and to receive His help. Read the Psalms 3,18, 22 to see that.
